Hairspray Premiere!!

I am so excited!!! Tonight I am going to the Hairspray premiere party @ The Drake Hotel. Hopefully I will get to see some celebrities, (in particular Amanda Bynes because she's awesome...Who didn't love She's The Man) and it will be open bar. Should be good times, and don't worry, I am bringing my camera.

Live Earth - Must Watch

I'm not sure how many people spent some time this weekend watching Live Earth- but in case you didn't (obviously I spent hours watching- but mostly fast forwarding) here are what I think were the best performances.

  1. Madonna- hands down my favorite. She always puts on an amazing performance- and I absolutely loved the song choices.
  2. Foo Fighters- They really rocked out. Sang all of their great songs and reminded me how much I love them. I am looking forward to finding tickets to one of their shows next time they come to T.O
  3. Red Hot Chilli Peppers- I loved their last CD- so the odds were good that I was going to enjoy this performance.
  4. Shakira + Dave Matthews Tied for 4th- both were pretty good and were spared from being fast forwarded
  5. Rihanna- she's so hot right now...and whenever I hear Umbrella I am singing it for hours. Oh, and her haircut is so awesome it makes we want to chop off all of my hair.

So...if you would like to watch any of these performances (which you should if you haven't)

And because this wasn't just an excuse to get drunk and rock out- and was actually meant to inspire people here are some tips to HELP SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT!!!!

  • Showers account for two-thirds of all water heating costs. The shorter your shower time, the more CO2 you'll save.
  • Turn the water off while you shave + brush your teeth
  • Take showers instead of baths, which use more water.
  • Instead of using hot water to thaw frozen food, let it defrost on the counter or in the refrigerator.
  • Many hot-water heaters come factory preset at 140 degrees -- hotter than you need. Reset your water heater's thermostat to 120 degrees Fahrenheit or lower and save yourself CO2 pounds (and a scalding).
  • A bathroom-sink faucet need deliver only 0.5 to 1 gallon of water per minute. In the kitchen, you want 2 or 2.5 gallons per minute so you won't get frustrated when you're filling pots. If your faucets are higher pressure and ready to be replaced, pick a lower-pressure model.
  • Shut off your lights + TV's
  • Don't idle your car for more than 2 mins
