The Pool Airlie Beach

Tanning while waiting to check in. We took an over night bus from Cairns to Airlie Beach and got there before we could check in. It was a gorgeous day so we made the best of the morning while lounging at the pool. I actually look alright considering I had spent a horrible night trying to sleep on a shitty bus.

the Pool- it looked nice but was freezing - and it was Salt Water, eew!

The Pool/Dining Area over looking the harbour. We were on top of a big hill!

The Dining Area- There these huge birds that walked though here every night. I think they were called Curlew - they were so quick we couldn't get a pic.

Wild Life

Our Super Long Balcony. We had a 1 bedroom apartment. It was so much better than anywhere else we stayed.

It was freaky to go out on the balcony at night because there were lizards everywhere. I got used to them though and even wanted to trap one at one point.

These are for Cindy- Don't they look like Asia??

More Asia birds. They are so loud.

Airlie Beach Waterfront

From November - May nobody swims in the water. It is full of deadly stingers (Crazy Jellyfish) Most places have salt water Lagoons (Cairns, Airlie) to swim in.

One of these fish- the most deadly can't even be seen! It seriously can kill you.

The Saturday Market on the Beach.

The Harbor is always filled with boats

The Road to the Rainforest

We had a 3 hr ride to the Rainforest on a bus. It was actually quite a nice drive up the coast.

We saw lots of beaches,

Sugar Cane

And mountains

The Daintree River Crossing

You have to take a 5 minute ferry to cross the river

The Ferry

This river is filled with Crocodiles. We got off the bus while waiting for a ferry and looked for some. We didn't see anything today, but we did on our Crocodile Tour the next day.

The Rainforest

If you touch this tree you develop a really bad skin rash and sensativity. It can be deadly and you have to seek medical attention immediately

This was one of my favorite trees.
