Whitehaven Beach

This is definately the place I was most excited about. When we first started researching our trip this was the one thing we both really wanted to do. Unless you have your own boat, you have to take a day trip which also takes you to a bunch of the other Islands. There is no boats that come exclusively to Whitehaven. In the end I was glad we got to see some of the other Islands, especially Hill Inlet. But Whitehaven was one of the highlights of the trip for me.

They advise you not to take your camera onto the Island because the sand is so fine and it gets into the cracks and can ruin it. The did have professional photographer on the trip and we bought a few of her pics. I can't upload them without a scanner, but they are so awesome. I took these pics from the boat.

7km of white sand beach and clear aqua water. The sand comes from a trench where rocks are constantly grinding and pushing this silica onto shore. It is great for exfoliating and cleaning gold and silver. I took a big bag home with me. You all have too feel how soft it is.

We walked most of the beach. I didn't want to leave.
